Help Protect The Reefs

Our Conservation Efforts in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

How Are We Qualified?

At Aquatic Life Divers, our goal is to understand Hawaii’s marine ecosystem. To do so, our crew has been trained in marine biology at college or through a program offered by global organization Reef Check. With this training, we are able to monitor the health of our local reefs through various methods.

What Steps Are We Taking?

Our Three-Legged Mission Includes Education, Adventure, and Conservation

We conduct 3D monitoring to monitor the health of the 18 reefs along the Kailua-Kona coast. With 3D reconstruction, we are able to see the gains and losses of reef mass. These technologies and methods, taught to us at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, allow us to do our part in conserving the ocean.

How Can You Help Us?

We have plans to install oyster beds in our slips to demonstrate how to improve water quality. And currently, we are collecting water quality information from Honokohau Harbor. Fortunately, you are able to help us in these efforts. If you are in our Dive Club or would like to join, call to learn how you can do your part.
